HILLENBRAND / MIMMACK / RIVETT & Al SMITH

Finally located probable indication of my Aunt Elsie (poss MIMMACK) HILLENBRAND, the wife of Jacob J. HILLENBRAND of Central Square.

For years we have pondered on whether or not MIMMICK/MIMMACK was her maiden name or not. Through the online Syracuse Newspaper subscription I have I found Uncle Jake’s obit in 1962 that lists her as Elsie “RIVETT” HILLENBRAND. We knew she was from Oswego County, NY., and had some family up there. So found her on the 1900 and 1910 census and her father’s name was Claude RIVETT and her mother’s name was Lena B.

She evidently had been married quite young to someone named MIMMACK because she is found with that name in 1930 working at the Onondaga County Home for the Aged, which is just down the road from where Dad & Jake were born and lived.

Worked on Al SMITH’s immediate family.
